水飞蓟宾是水飞蓟素的主要成分，是一种黄酮木脂素和口服活性类黄酮。它是从水飞蓟的种子中分离出来的（Sylibum marianum L）。
應用
水飞蓟宾用于：
- 通过实时聚合酶链反应（RT-PCR）研究其对前列腺癌染色质调节中涉及的各种蛋白质的基因表达水平的影响

生化／生理作用
水飞蓟宾在急性和慢性肝损伤患者中具有保肝作用。这种类黄酮可对抗多种癌细胞，包括前列腺癌、皮肤癌、乳腺癌、结肠癌、肺癌、膀胱癌和肝细胞癌（HCC）。水飞蓟宾可通过阻止肿瘤细胞中促血管生成因子的分泌，并通过阻止内皮细胞的生长并诱导其凋亡而显示出抗癌功效。此外，它还能够破坏Matrigel上的毛细管形成。水飞蓟宾可能是化学预防前列腺癌（PC）的良好候选药物。它在 体外 和 体内表现出可能能够作为用作治疗子宫内膜异位症的潜在治疗方案。
