中性红是一种阳离子染料，可在生物学研究中复染细胞核。也可在分析实验室中用作pH指示剂。中性红染料降解后会释放出一氧化碳(CO)、二氧化碳CO2)、氮氧化物和氯化氢。因此被视为有毒染料，建议去除后再排放到受纳水体中。
應用
