應用
中性红已用于多种组织学染色应用，包括：
- 细胞核染色
- 革兰氏染色中的反染色，或单独使用，或作为Twort染色的组分（一种快速绿中性红混合物）。
- 神经组织、脂类和疏水物质的核酸荧光染色，例如藻壁中酚类化合物的亚硫酸盐
