生化/生理作用
L-硒代蛋氨酸(SeMet)能够抑制特应性皮炎(AD)样皮损。它还能抑制总免疫球蛋白E (IgE)和白介素4 (IL-4)的表达。它可通过饮食被鱼类吸收,因此会造成生态毒性。
硒-L-蛋氨酸显示出抗氧化活性,并且已表明能增加内皮细胞中谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶的活性。 谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶保护细胞免受氧化损伤,例如DNA 链断裂、突变和基于蛋白酪氨酸的信号传导的干扰,以及由于过量亚硝酸盐引起的3-硝基酪氨酸形成的其他蛋白质功能。向癌细胞系(MCF-7/S 乳腺癌,DU-145 前列腺癌细胞和UACC-375 黑素瘤)给予硒-L-甲硫氨酸处理,导致细胞凋亡和异常有丝分裂。这些人肿瘤细胞系在微摩尔范围(45至130μM)内表现出硒代蛋氨酸的剂量依赖性生长抑制,而正常成纤维细胞的生长抑制需要 1mM 硒代蛋氨酸。
