Chlorobenzilate is a non-systemic acaricide, used for the control of mites in pome fruit, citrus, vines, soybeans, cotton, tea, vegetables, and beehives.
Chlorobenzilate is not approved for use as a plant protection product in the European Union (EU) as per the Commission Regulation 1107/2009.

Application

The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
Chlorobenzilate CRM may also be used as given below:

  • Quantification of 72 pesticide residues in 35 different fruit and vegetable samples using microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) accompanied by dispersive solid-phase extraction (d-SPE) and separation plus detection by retention time locked (RTL) capillary gas-chromatography and mass spectrometry (MS) respectively
  • Multi-residue analysis of 35 pesticides from various chemical classes melon samples by QuEChERS based sample preparation and determination by gas chromatography-single quadrupole mass spectrometry (GC-SQ/MS)
  • Monitoring of 86 pesticides in 13 different samples of non-leafy vegetables by gas chromatography with mass spectrometric detection (GC-MS)
  • Evaluate a multi-residue method based on gas chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (GC-QqQMS/MS) for the analysis of 203 pesticides in 69 fruit and vegetable samples for a shorter runtime
  • Simultaneous determination of 124 pesticide residues in rice samples by using dispersive solid-phase extraction (d-SPE) for sample clean-up and gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) for detection
  • Analysis of 113 pesticide residues and their metabolites in a broad range of fruit and vegetables representing high water and high acid content matrices by a deactivated PTV (programmable temperature vaporizing) injector liner and GC-MS/MS

A modified QuEChERS method for simultaneous determination of 124 pesticide residues in rice was established and validated. The rice samples were initially extracted with acetonitrile (MeCN), and the targeted pesticides were purified following the dispersive solid phase extraction (d-SPE) cleanup
