General description

Silychristin is one of the congeners of flavonolignan silybin. It is usually derived from silymarin, which is extracted from the fruits of Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn, and Asteraceae (Carduus marianus L.; milk thistle).

Application

Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.
Silychristin may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of silychristin in:
  • Herbal extracts, fruit extracts, and seed extracts of Silybum marianum by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection (UHPLC-DAD) and methanol extraction coupled to HPLC equipped with ultraviolet array detection (UVAD).
  • Milk thistle seeds by HPLC-UV.

Packaging
