Gene Information

General description

Rac1, RhoA, and Cdc42 (UniProt P63000, P61586, and P60953, respectively) are among the most studied Rho family of small GTPases that are involved in a wide variety of cellular functions such as cell polarity, vesicular trafficking, and cell cycle by regulating intracellular actin dynamics. In mammals, the Rho family contains 22 members which can be further divided into the Rac subfamily (Rac1, Rac2, Rac3, and RhoG), Cdc42 subfamily (Cdc42, TC10, TCL, Chip, and Wrch-1), RhoA subfamlly (RhoA, RhoB, and RhoC) and other Rho-GTPases (RhoE/Rnd3, RhoH/TTF, Rif, RhoBTB1, RhoBTB2, Miro-1, Miro-2, RhoD, Rnd1, and Rnd2).

Specificity

This polyclonal antibody is raised against an internal sequence highly conserved among RhoA (100%), RhoB (95%), and RhoC (100%).

Immunogen

Epitope: Amino acids 73-94.
KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide (SYPDTDVILMCFSIDSPDSLEN-KK) corresponding to amino acids 73-94 of human RhoA & RhoB, with two C-terminal lysines added to increase peptide solubility corresponding to human Rho (-A, -B, -C).

Application

Anti-Rho (-A, -B, -C) Antibody is an antibody against Rho (-A, -B, -C) for use in Western Blotting.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in HL-60 cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:5,000 dilution of this antibody detected RhoA family GTPase in 10 µg of HL-60 cell lysate.

Target description

~22 kDa observed. 21.44 kDa (human RhoA), 21.78 kDa (human RhoB), and 21.68 kDa (human RhoC) calculated.
