General description

A certified reference solution suitable for use as an internal standard for quantitation of O-desmethylvenlafaxine levels in urine or isotope dilution methods by LC/MS or GC/MS for clinical toxicology, urine drug testing, or forensic analysis. Also known as desvenlafaxine, O-desmethylvenlafaxine is an SNRI antidepressant marketed under the trade name Pristiq® for treatment of depression. O-desmethylvenlafaxine is also a major urinary metabolite of venlafaxine, an SNRI antidepressant sold as Effexor® or Efexor and used to treat major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and other anxiety disorders associated with depression.

Application

  • Hydrodesulfurization research using pharmacosiderite Mo(4)P(3)O(16): This study utilized the microporous catalytic activity of synthesized Mo(4)P(3)O(16) under moderate temperatures for hydrodesulfurization, showing its potential in refining processes relevant to forensic toxicology for substance identification, including antidepressant drug metabolites (Ishikawa et al., 2024).
  • Synthesis of acyl cyclopentaquinolinones: Research demonstrated the construction of acyl cyclopentaquinolinones with potential implications for the synthesis and analysis of stable isotope-labeled compounds, helping to understand the biochemistry and metabolism of antidepressants (Xue et al., 2024).
  • Nutraceutical applications from biomass: The production and characterization of xylooligosaccharides from lignocellulosic biomass were reviewed, relevant for pharmacokinetic research by providing insights into plant-derived compound processing and applications, influencing stable isotope-labeled compound studies (Kumar et al., 2024).
  • Adverse event detection in pharmaceutical care: This study evaluated deep learning models for detecting adverse events from pharmaceutical care records, offering a methodological approach that could be adapted for monitoring effects related to antidepressant drugs in clinical settings (Nishioka et al., 2024).
