Thrombospondin type-1 domain-containing protein 7A (UniProt: Q9UPZ6; also known as THSD7A) is encoded by the THSD7A (also known as KIAA0960) gene (Gene ID: 221981) in human. THSD7A is a single-pass type I membrane glycoprotein that is synthesized with a signal peptide (aa 1-47), which is subsequently cleaved to produce the mature form that contains an extracellular domain (aa 48-1607), a transmembrane domain (aa 1608-1628), and a short cytoplasmic domain (aa 1629-1657). It contains 19 thrombospondin type 1 repeats, multiple WSXW motifs, and one RGD motif (aa 1568-1570). It is detected on kidney podocytes along the glomerular capillary wall. It plays a role in actin cytoskeleton rearrangement. There also exists a soluble form that promotes endothelial cell migration and filopodia formation during sprouting angiogenesis via a focal adhesion kinase-dependent mechanism. THSD7A is a well-known antigenic target of autoantibodies leading to primary membranous glomerulopathy and accounts for about 10% cases of phospholipase A2 receptor-negative membranous glomerulopathy. This ZooMAb^® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals. Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS, 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin.
