Opis ogólny

SAMSN1 (SAM domain, SH3 domain and nuclear localization signals 1) is a cytoplasmic adaptor protein belonging to the SLY family. It is abundantly expressed in the hematopoietic compartment. Its expression to a lesser extent have also been found in heart, brain, placenta, and lung. Generally, they are characterized by the presence of protein-protein interaction domains. It consists of a sterile motif (SAM) domain that is capable of self-association and can also associate with each other. The chimeric fusion of this domain with the ßPDGF receptor, AML1, c-Abl, and JAK2 results in the oncogenic transformation of the SAM domain. The SH3 domains mediate protein-protein interactions in several signal transduction pathways.

Zastosowanie

All Prestige Antibodies Powered by Atlas Antibodies are developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project and as a result, are supported by the most extensive characterization in the industry.

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. These images and the collection of this vast data set can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. We also provide Prestige Antibodies® protocols and other useful information.

Działania biochem./fizjol.

SAMSN1 (SAM domain, SH3 domain and nuclear localization signals 1) protein may be involved in the formation of blood vessel during normal brain development. It may function as an adaptor or scaffold protein. It has been found to be overexpressed in glioma cells and is associated with a poor survival in glioblastoma multiforme. SAMSN1 may be involved in B cell activation and differentiation. SAMSN1 has been suggested to be a tumor suppressor in lung cancer. It has also been reported that SAMSN1 may act as a biomarker for the phenotype of human hepatocellular carcinoma.

Cechy i korzyści

Prestige Antibodies® are highly characterized and extensively validated antibodies with the added benefit of all available characterization data for each target being accessible via the Human Protein Atlas portal linked just below the product name at the top of this page. The uniqueness and low cross-reactivity of the Prestige Antibodies® to other proteins are due to a thorough selection of antigen regions, affinity purification, and stringent selection. Prestige antigen controls are available for every corresponding Prestige Antibody and can be found in the linkage section.

Every Prestige Antibody is tested in the following ways:
  • IHC tissue array of 44 normal human tissues and 20 of the most common cancer type tissues.
  • Protein array of 364 human recombinant protein fragments.

The Human Proteome Project has been proposed to create a knowledge-based resource based on a systematical mapping of all human proteins, chromosome by chromosome, in a gene-centric manner. With this background, we here describe the systematic analysis of chromosome 21
