LUM (lumican) gene encodes a protein belonging to the small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) family. It contains keratin sulfate side chains and forms a major component of the cornea, dermal, and muscle connective tissues.

Zastosowanie

Anti-LUM antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project . Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. LUM (lumican) gene functions in the regulation of collagen assembly into fibrils in various connective tissues. It is essential in a highly organized collagenous matrix and corneal transparency development. It is also involved in epithelial cell migration and tissue repair.
