The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. Serine/threonine-protein kinase ICK is an enzyme encoded by the ICK gene in humans. It is highly a conserved serine/threonine protein kinase that is similar to mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) in the catalytic domain. It is activated by dual phosphorylation within a MAPK-like TDY motif. It plays an important role in proliferation and differentiation of intestinal epithelial cells. It also plays an essential role in the development of multiple organ systems.
