Superdex®は、タンパク質クロマトグラフィー、ゲルろ過クロマトグラフィー、ゲルろ過担体、樹脂、および分離媒体に使用されます。Superdex®は、食用キノコHericium coralloidesから新たに発見されたラッカーゼの精製および特性解析に使用されてきました。また、Superdex® はBauhinia purpurea L.（フイリソシンカ）の種子からのヒト肝細胞がん阻害剤候補の精製と機構探索のためにも使用されてきました。
サイズ排除クロマトグラフィーによる高分解能分取用に最適化済み。推奨される分画範囲は球状タンパク質およびデキストランに関して記載されています。
