Descrizione generale

3-Allyloxy-1,2-propanediol(AP) is a multifunctional monomer which contains both allyl and hydroxyl functionalities. The allyl group allows for easy incorporation into polymer chains through various polymerization techniques, including free radical polymerization and thiol-ene reactions. The hydroxyl groups contribute to its solubility in water and compatibility with hydrophilic polymers, enhancing its utility in biomedical applications. It also exhibits high thermal stability.

Applicazioni

3-Allyloxy-1,2-propanediol can be used:
  • As a functional additive to fabricate spin-coating-free perovskite photovoltaic devices. The hydroxyl groups of the AP interact with the perovskite, resulting in the creation of a high-quality slot-die coated film. This suppresses surface defects in the perovskite, enhancing the performance and stability.
  • As a monomer to synthesize modified polymer grafted magnetic nanoparticles via radical co-polymerization method. This nano-adsorbent with high chemical stability can be used in targeted drug delivery systems. It enables the targeted adsorption and extraction of specific molecules.
  • As a precursor to prepare hyper-branched solid polymer electrolytes for long-life rechargeable Li-ion batteries.
