應用

牛甲状腺球蛋白可刺激大鼠甲状腺滤泡细胞以及原代猪甲状腺上皮细胞的增殖。这种效应是通过 PI3K 信号传导介导的。
通常用作生产抗体的载体蛋白。其优点在于大量的酪氨酸残基可用于重氮反应进行偶联。

生化/生理作用

储存在甲状腺中的含碘蛋白质。当甲状腺受到来自垂体的促甲状腺激素(TSH) 的刺激时,转化为循环甲状腺素。因为其表达是甲状腺所独有的,它是甲状腺消融治疗后甲状腺癌复发或转移的敏感指标。
