Percoll®是一种用于细胞、病毒和亚细胞颗粒密度梯度离心的经典培养基。它由直径为15-30 nm(在水中为23% w/w)并涂覆有聚乙烯吡咯烷酮(PVP)的胶体二氧化硅颗粒组成。PVP涂层使产品完全无毒,非常适合与生物材料一起使用。由于其颗粒大小的不均匀性,沉积以不同的速率发生,自发地在1.0-1.3 g/ml范围内产生非常光滑的等距梯度。
