免疫球蛋白G（IgG）的单体结构由两条相同的重链和两条相同的轻链构成，其分子量分别为50kDa和25kDa。该抗体的一级结构还包含连接两条重链、连接重链和轻链，并位于链内的二硫键。IgG 可进一步分为四种亚型，即IgG1、IgG2、IgG3 和 IgG4，而这四种亚型所含的不同重链分别称为 γ1、 γ2、 γ3 和 γ4。使用木瓜蛋白酶的有限消化将抗体切割成三个片段，其中两个片段相同，并具有抗原结合活性（Fab片段）。

生化／生理作用
IgG抗体亚型是免疫系统中最丰富的血清免疫球蛋白。它由B细胞分泌，存在于血液和细胞外液中，可防止细菌、真菌和病毒引起的感染。母体IgG可通过胎盘转移至胎儿，胎盘对新生儿免疫防御感染至关重要。Cy3与抗兔IgG（全分子），F(ab′)2片断抗体的偶联可通过荧光显微镜观察蛋白质。
