该MQuant®铵测试（原MColortest®）适用于使用简单易用的比色卡进行比色法检测。测试对象包括未处理样品，因此即使是混浊和有色的水样也能用于分析。该测试检测诸如地下水和地表水、饮用水和水族馆用水中的氨离子和溶解氨。铵氮(NH4-N)部分以铵离子形态存在，部分为氨形态。两种形态之间存在pH依赖性平衡。

分析方法
在强碱溶液中，铵氮几乎都以铵形态存在，其可与氯化试剂反应形成一氯胺。该产物又会与百里酚反应生成蓝色的吲哚酚衍生物。由于空白试剂本身显黄色，测试液显黄绿色至绿色。通过匹配测试液颜色与比色卡值，可半定量测定铵浓度。

该测试可用于测定以下物质中的铵含量：

  • 饮用水和矿泉水
  • 废水
  • 工艺用水
  • 水族馆用水、水产养殖用水
  • 锅炉水和锅炉给水、冷却水

该测试不适用于海水。
