Descripción general

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a cytokine produced by activated T cells in response to antigen stimulation. IL-2 is important for proliferation of lymphocytes, natural killer cells and macrophages and in the differentiation of CD4+ cells into Th1 and Th2 effector cells. The effects of IL-2 are mediated by the signalling activated by its binding to IL-2 receptor (IL-2 R). IL-2 activates key signalling pathways such as MAPK, JAK/STAT as well as PI3K/Akt. Activation of these pathways modulates production of inflammatory cytokines, survival and progression through cell cycle
Monoclonal Anti-Interleukin-2 recognizes human Interleukin-2. It also neutralizes recombinant, mouse IL-2, but requires 30-50 times the antibody concentration required to neutralize human IL-2.

Especificidad

The antibody neutralizes the biological activity of recombinant human IL-2.

Inmunógeno

recombinant human interleukin-2 expressed in Escherichia coli.

Aplicación

Anti-interleukin-2 antibody is suitable for IL-2 neutralization assays.

Forma física

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of phosphate buffered saline containing carbohydrates.

Nota de preparación

Purified using protein G.

Endogenous interleukin-2 (IL-2) was found in the adult rat brain, however, it has not been reported whether this cytokine is present in the olfactory bulb. Immunohistochemical techniques were used to examine the cellular localization of IL-2 and its receptor subunits

Interleukin-2 is a pharmacologically important cytokine secreted by T lymphocytes. Recombinant interleukin-2 has been produced and found to be useful for many medical applications. Mass production of recombinant interleukin-2 will be prerequisite for a wider application of this molecule. In
