Allgemeine Beschreibung

Synaptosome associated protein 25 (SNAP25) is a component of the soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor (SNARE) complex. It is expressed in pancreatic endocrine cells. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 20p12.2.

Immunogen

Peptide with sequence C-DEANQRATKMLGSG from the C Terminus of the protein sequence according to NP_003072.2; NP_570824.1.

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Synaptosome associated protein 25 (SNAP25) has a role in vesicle mobilization, exocytosis and may have a role in fusion of synaptic vesicles. It is involved in modulating the activity of potassium voltage gated (Kv) 2.1 channels. SNAP25 has been associated with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
