Allgemeine Beschreibung

L-Histidine is an essential amino acid, widely present at the active sites of enzymes. It binds to metal ions and may aid in the transport of copper. It also plays an important role for the binding of heme groups, macromolecules and phosphate groups in the binding sites of proteins.
