Certified pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to in-house working standards. Tretinoin is a medication used for the treatment of severe cystic acne. The drug acts by regulating epithelial cell growth and differentiation, sebum production, collagen synthesis and keratinization of the skin.

Aplicação

These Secondary Standards are qualified as Certified Reference Materials. These are suitable for use in several analytical applications including but not limited to pharma release testing, pharma method development for qualitative and quantitative analyses, food and beverage quality control testing, and other calibration requirements.

Tretinoin may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations by chromatography techniques.

Ações bioquímicas/fisiológicas

O ácido all-−trans−-retinoico (ATRA) é um ligante do receptor de ácido retinoico (RAR) e do receptor retinoide X (RXR). Os receptores ligados RAR e RXR agem como fatores de transcrição que regulam o crescimento e a diferenciação de células normais e malignas. Os citocromos P450 (CYPs) catalisam a 4-hidroxilação de ATRA. O ácido retinoico prepara as células-tronco embrionárias para se tornarem neurônios.
