No intrinsic cytotoxicity against human peripheral blood lymphocytes. Intended for micro and macro lymphocyte cytotoxicity testing with human or animal sera. Also useful as an active source of complement for use with hybridoma antibodies, alloantisera, and related applications in which a non-cytotoxic source is required.

Application

Complement, rabbit serum has been used:
  • in complement killing of fibroblasts for the isolation of Schwann cells (SCs)
  • as a component of Dulbecco′s modified Eagle medium (DMEM) for the purification of SC cells
  • to eliminate fibroblasts for the SC isolation
