General description

Purospher® STAR RP-18 endcapped, 3 µm HPLC columns are designed for universal use and allow the separation of basic, neutral, and metal chelating compounds with simple mobile phases and excellent peak symmetry. They are based on ultra-pure fully porous silica particles (Type B). These columns offer an outstanding stability from pH 1.5 to 10.5 over a wide temperature range, and suitability for up to 100% aqueous mobile phases. Plus, they demonstrate best all-round retention characteristics, as proven by the Tanaka test. Purospher® STAR RP-18 endcapped, 3 µm Hibar® HR 100-2.1 is a ready to use UHPLC column suitable for connection to any UHPLC system providing a pressure stability of 1000 bar.The column dimension of 100 mm length x 2.1 mm I.D. is the optimal choice for fast and high resolution UHPLC separation of complex samples allowing significant solvent savings and improved sensitivity. A 2.1 mm I.D. column enables a more sustainable separations in comparison to 4, 4.6 or 3 mm I.D. column due to the use of significant less solvent for the chromatographic separation.Learn more about Purospher® STAR HPLC and UHPLC ColumnsLearn more about the Supelco HPLC Column portfolio and Method development:Brochure: HPLC and UHPLC Column Selection GuideBrochure: A Practical Guide to HPLC - Method Development Guide

Xanthine is a purine base found in most human body tissues and fluids as well as in other organisms. Methylated xanthines (methylxanthines), which include caffeine, paraxanthine, theobromine, and theophylline, commonly used for their effects as mild stiµlants and as bronchodilators, notably in the treatment of asthma symptoms. This application shows the efficient separation of several common xanthines and may be applied their analysis in any number of desired matrices.
