Glimepirid wird derzeit zur Behandlung von Typ-2-Diabetes eingesetzt.

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Glimepirid ist ein wirksamer Blocker kardialer K_ATP-Kanäle, aktiviert durch Pinacidil mit einem IC₅₀ von 6,8 nM.
