Allgemeine Beschreibung

S6 (Ribosomal protein S6, RpS6, 40S ribosomal protein S6) is known to play a role in cell growth and proliferation. It lays downstream of both the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway as a substrate of p70 S6 kinase and the Ras/Erk pathway as a substrate of RSK. S6 is phosphorylated in response to stimulation by growth factors, tumor promoting agents, and mitogens. It is dephosphorylated at growth arrest. There are two major areas of S6 phosphorylation; Ser235/Ser236 that are known to be phosphorylated by both p70S6 Kinase as well as RSK and Ser240/244 which is thought to only be phosphorylated by p70S6K.

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: 1:500 dilution from a representative lot detected Ribosomal Protein S6 in A431 cells and PMA treated A431 cells.
This phospho-Ribosomal Protein S6 antibody is validated for use in WB & ICC for the detection of the phospho-Ribosomal Protein S6 protein.

Qualität

Evaluated by Western Blot in PMA treated and untreated A431 cell lysates.

Western Blot Analysis: 2 µg/mL of this antibody detected Ribosomal Protein S6 on 10 µg of PMA treated and untreated A431 cell lysates.
