General description
4-Methacryloxyethyl trimellitic anhydride (4-META), a widely used dental adhesive, improves the bond strength between the metal and acrylic resin. It has an anhydride group that bonds with dental metal substrates and the methacrylate group that polymerizes and copolymerizes with monomeric composite resin.
Application
4-META can be used in the formation of resin to fix the vertical root fracture by root fragment bonding.
4-Methacryloxyethyl trimellitic anhydride (4-META) is a methacylate monomer most commonly used as an adhesion promoter in dental resins. 4-META contains both hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups, promoting the diffusion of other dental resin monomers into the tooth structure to form a hybrid, resin-impregnated layer.
