General description
Ultrafiltration membranes are generally composed of regenerated cellulose or polyethersulfone (PES). The sample compatibility and the molecular weight (MW) of the macrosolute that is to be retained determine the choice of membrane and its nominal molecular weight cut-off (NMWCO), respectively. As a rule, the NMWCO should be 4-5 times smaller than the molecular weight of the solute to be retained when using Biomax® PES membranes.
Application
Ultrafiltration Discs, 300 kDa NMW has been used for Kaposi′s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) purification.
