Gene Information

human ... IRAK3(11213)

General description

The IRAKM (interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase-3) gene is mapped to human chromosome 12q14.3. This gene is predominantly expressed in monocytes and macrophages.

Immunogen

IRAK-M antibody was raised against a peptide corresponding to amino acids from the carboxy terminus of human IRAK-M .

Application

Anti-IRAK-M antibody produced in rabbit has been used in Western blotting, immunoprecipitation and immunofluorescence.

Biochem/physiol Actions

The Irakm (interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase-3) protein downregulates the toll like receptor (TLR)-signalling and influences the action of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB). Increased IRAKM expression is observed in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colorectal cancer. It is known to reduce the immune response against microorganism.
