Gene Information

rabbit ... CREB(1385)

Immunogen

The epitope recognized by PLA0205 maps to a region between residue 250 and 300 of human cAMP responsive element binding protein 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_604391.1 (GeneID 1385).

Physical form

Tris-buffered Saline containing 0.1% BSA containing 0.09% Sodium Azide

Other Notes

CREB (cyclic AMP response element-binding protein) is a ubiquitously expressed transcription factor that binds cAMP response elements to regulate gene transcription for various cellular responses such as glucose homeostasis, growth-factor dependent survival, and proliferation. CREB is also implicated to play a role in memory and mood.

Synaptic vesicle and active zone proteins are required for synaptogenesis. The molecular mechanisms for coordinated synthesis of these proteins are not understood. Using forward genetic screens, we identified the conserved THO nuclear export complex (THOC) as an important regulator of

Nutlin-3 which occupies the p53 binding pocket in HDM2, has been reported to activate apoptosis through both the transcriptional activity-dependent and -independent programs of p53. Transcription-independent apoptosis by nutlin-3 is triggered by p53 which is translocated to mitochondria. However, we
