Cell Line Description

Derived from a subcutaneous nodule of a tumour from a 14-year-old male. Cells display remarkable blebbing.COLO 800 and COLO 794 (Sigma Catalogue number 94072237) were both derived from the same 14 year old male This has been confirmed by STR profiling.

Culture Medium

RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Subculture Routine

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 35°C; 5% CO₂.
