Gene Information

human ... SRY(6736)

General description

Sex-determining region Y protein, also known as Testis-determining factor, and encoded by the human gene SRY or TDF is a transcriptional regulator that controls a genetic switch in male development. SRY is necessary and sufficient for initiating male sex determination by directing the development of supporting cell precursors (pre-Sertoli cells) to Sertoli rather than granulosa cells. In male adult brain SRY is involved in the maintenance of motor functions of dopaminergic neurons. SRY is also involved in different aspects of gene regulation including promoter activation or repression, DNA bending and manipulation. The SRY HMG box recognizes DNA by partial intercalation into the minor groove, and SRY is also involved in pre-mRNA splicing. SRY is expressed in the developing testis and surrounding tissue and can be found expressed in neurons in the adult. SRY is nuclear associated.

Immunogen

Purified recombinant fragment of human SRY expressed in E. Coli

Application

Anti-SRY, clone 1G4 Antibody is an antibody against SRY for use in western blotting, IHC, flow cytometry & ELISA.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:200-1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected SRY in cervical and ovarian cancer tissues.

Flow Cytometry Analysis: A 1:200-400 dilution from a representative lot detected SRY in HepG2 cells.

ELISA: A representative lot detected control Antigen (100 ng) and Antigen (10 ng, 50 ng, 100 ng) in ELISA (Direct).
