General description
Native fibrinogen fragment D from human plasma prepared by plasmin digestion of purified fibrinogen followed by preparative electrophoresis. Thermolabile core fragment of fibrinogen. Complete proteolysis of a single fibrinogen molecule produces two D and one E fragments. The D and E fragments have no common antigenic determinants; therefore, no cross-reaction occurs. Reported to increase endothelial membrane permeability to albumin.
Native fibrinogen fragment D from human plasma prepared by plasmin digestion of purified fibrinogen followed by preparative electrophoresis. Thermolabile fragment. Complete proteolysis of a single fibrinogen molecule produces two D and one E fragments. Fragment D has been shown to increase endothelial monolayer permeability and to decrease polymorphonuclear leukocyte adhesion to endothelial cells. The D and E fragments have no common antigenic determinants; therefore, no cross-reactivity occurs.
