PITCOIN1 is a cell permeable, potent, and highly selective inhibitor of Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase type 2α (PI3KC2α) catalytic activity. Also, PITCOIN1 is a moderate inhibitor of PI3KC2γ and PI3KC2β. PITCOIN1 inhibits PI3KC2α-mediated synthesis of PI(3,4)P2 and PI(3)P. It exhibits potent antithrombotic activity by counteracting platelet membrane remodeling.
