Original tumour induced in outbred Wistar rats by intramuscular injection of Rous sarcoma virus. The cells have virus genome but do not normally release infectious virus. The XC plaque assay is an indirect method of detection for MuLV in cultured cells.

培養基

EMEM (HBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

例行更新培養

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-5x10,000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin; 5% CO₂; 37°C.
