巴豆油提取自巴豆 L。它由巴豆油酸、巴豆酸、巴豆醇、巴豆醇二酯和巴豆醇三酯组成。巴豆油可刺激皮肤和粘膜发炎。其与过敏性接触性皮炎 (ACD) 和皮肤癌有关。巴豆油用作换肤剂。
巴豆油是从巴豆的种子中提取的有毒粘性液体。它呈浅黄色至棕色，天然透明。巴豆油具有很强的刺激性，可与苯酚一起用于某些化学换肤术。它还具有促进肿瘤进展的作用。
