生化/生理作用

高铁血红素是经氧化血红素,是一系列蛋白质的一种含铁的辅基基团。游离血红素在溶血后从血红蛋白中释放出来,具有促炎作用,有助于铁源活性氧的生成。游离血红素水平可在各种病理条件下上调,并可导致各种炎症条件,包括血管疾病、肾功能衰竭和免疫介导的疾病。

高铁血红素可用于研究血红素加氧酶1 (HO-1)的表达和抑制以及HO-1的活性。 血凝素是生长流感嗜血杆菌所必需的“X因子”。
