Fura 2 pentapotassium salt (fura-2) is a fluorescent ratiometric Ca2+ dye. Fura 2 pentapotassium salt (fura-2) helps to estimate the level of cytosolic Ca(2+) by determining the emission found at 510 nm after alternating excitation at 340 nm and 380 nm (F340/F380 ratio). Hence, it is considered as the standard for quantitative intracellular calcium measurements.
