General description

Mouse Leptin ELISA is used to measure and quantify leptin levels in metabolism, endocrine, and neuroscience research. Leptin is a hormone or cytokine derived from adipocytes circulating in the blood. It acts as a regulator of food intake and energy expenditure via the hypothalamus. This hormone plays a role in angiogenesis, lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, and hematopoiesis. Leptin exerts its effects on the cardiovascular, reproductive, and immune systems. The deficiency of leptin in rodents is associated with obesity and insulin resistance.

Application

Mouse Leptin ELISA has been used to determine the levels of leptin in mice serum and plasma.
