Tau基因跨越100 kb,有16个外显子,定位于人17q21染色体。成人大脑中已确定六种选择性剪接变体,变体大小范围为352-441个氨基酸 。 Tau 蛋白是微管相关蛋白(MAP)家族成员。主要在神经元中表达。

應用

Tau蛋白梯(人的6种同工型)用作免疫磁减量(IMR)分析的样品。也用作 Western 印迹的阳性对照。

生化/生理作用

神经元中,tau 蛋白在维持微管组装和稳定方面起重要作用。它是微管和其他细胞骨架元件或蛋白之间的连接蛋白。在阿尔茨海默′病和各种称为 ‘tau病变′的神经退行性疾病中,可观察到这种蛋白的过度表达。因此,病理性tau蛋白可作为神经退行性过程的潜在生物标记。
