生化/生理作用

虫草素可激活人类AMP活化蛋白激酶(AMPK),发挥多种代谢功能。三磷酸虫草素通过体外阻断[3H]GMP掺入来抑制微小核糖核酸病毒(picornavirus)聚合酶特异性RNA合成。它也可抑制RNA合成而延缓细胞生长。
虫草素 5′-三磷酸盐通过 poly (A) 聚合酶掺入核酸中。因为它缺少一个 3′-羟基链的产生,它可用于 3′-RNA 的末端标记。
