4ME 16:0 Diether PE or 1,2-di-O-phytanyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine is a class of glycerophospholipids having two phytane chains attached to the sn-1 and sn-2 positions of the glycerol backbone by ether bonds. It has ethanolamine as the alcohol moiety, attached to the phosphate group.
Application
4ME 16:0 Diether PE or 1,2-di-O-phytanyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine is suitable:
- for nanoformulation of liposomal docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and ghost (no DHA, control) liposomes
- for the preparation of archaeal-like lipid bilayers to examine the effect of humidity and temperature on it
