Biochem/physiol Actions
Cofilin-l (CFL1) plays a vital role in the regulation of actin cytoskeleton reorganization. It is also implicated in cancer cell migration and invasion in several types of tumor tissues. Elevated expression of the gene is associated with the development of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). In addition, abnormal expression of the gene leads to vulvar cancer and thus, it can be considered as a potential therapeutic target for the same. CFL1 facilitates cytokinesis, cell motility and morphogenesis. Activated CFL1 helps in preventing cytoskeletal-associated defects in axonal development stimulated by Syns.
Physical form
Formulated in 25 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 100 mM NaCl, 0.05% Tween-20, 30% glycerol and 3 mM DTT.
Preparation Note
Thaw on ice. Upon first thaw, briefly spin tube containing enzyme to recover full content of the tube. Aliquot enzyme into single use aliquots. Store remaining undiluted enzyme in aliquots at -70°C. Note: Enzyme is very sensitive to freeze/thaw cycles.
