Human plasma cell leukaemia

Cell Line Description

Derived from a 33 year old female with plasma cell leukaemia. The cells synthesise IgG1 (kappa-light chain) and are EBNA positive.Although the cells are reported to originate from a patient with a plasma cell leukaemia , it has now been shown that this is in fact an EBV transformed B lymphoblastoid cell line .

Culture Medium

RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Subculture Routine

Maintain cultures between 1-4x100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C. Maximum cell density 1-2x1,000,000 cells/ml.
