General description

Mouse monoclonal antibody purified from serum-free cell culture supernatant by thiophilic adsorption and size exclusion chromatography. Recognizes the the ~50 kDa VASP protein phosphorylated at Ser157.
Recognizes the the ~50 kDa VASP protein phosphorylated at Ser157.
This PhosphoDetect Anti-VASP (pSer¹⁵⁷) Mouse mAb (5C6) is validated for use in ELISA, Immunoblotting, ICC, IP for the detection of VASP (pSer¹⁵⁷).

Immunogen

Human
a synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acids surrounding the Ser¹⁵⁷ phosphorylation site of human VASP

Application

ELISA (0.05 µg/ml)

Immunoblotting (1 µg/ml, colorimetric; 0.1 µg/ml, chemiluminescence)

Immunocytochemistry (1-10 µg/ml)

Immunoprecipitation (1-10 µg/10⁶ vanadate-treated A431 cells)

Warning

Toxicity: Standard Handling (A)

Physical form

Lyophilized from PBS, PEG, sucrose.

Reconstitution

Reconstitute in 1 ml sterile, dH₂O, 15 min, room temperature. Following reconstitution, refrigerate (4°C) for short-term storage or aliquot, flash-freeze in liquid nitrogen, and freeze (-70°C) for long-term storage. Stock solutions are stable for up to 3 months at 4°C or for up to 1 year at -70°C. Thaw aliquots at 37°C. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles of solutions.

Does not cross-react with non-phosphorylated VASP or with unrelated phosphorylation sites. For immunocytochemistry, fixation protocol may include up to 0.5% formaldehyde. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the proper working dilution.

Diabetes is strongly associated with cognitive decline, but the molecular reasons are unknown. We found that fasting and peripheral insulin promote phosphorylation and dephosphorylation, respectively, of specific residues on brain proteins including cytoskeletal regulators such as slit-robo GTPase-activating protein 3
