일반 설명
Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) is a cationic polypeptide and a constituent of α-granules. PDGF is composed of chain A and B linked together by a disulphide bridge. PDGF heterodimers occurs as PDGF-AB and homodimers exists as FDGF-AA, PDGF-BB, PDGF-CC and PDGF-DD). The PDGFB gene is localized to pericytes in the brain and is mapped to human chromosome 7p22.3.
애플리케이션
Platelet-Derived Growth Factor-AB human has been used in luciferase reporter assay.
생화학적/생리학적 작용
Cellular actions of platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) include chemoattraction and activation of neutrophils, monocytes, and fibroblasts. PDGF appears to play a crucial role in the cellular response to tissue injury and is critically involved in the pathological progression of atherosclerosis.
PDGF stimulates fibroblast proliferation and extracellular matrix production in order to facilitate tissue repair. PDGF-AB isomer is found to be associated with angiogenesis and proliferation. Loss of PDGFB gene function induces microvascular calcification due to age-dependent phenotypical changes.

The serine/threonine kinase, Akt (protein kinase B) plays a central role in the regulation of intracellular cell survival. Recently, we demonstrated that the proto-oncogene TCL1, overexpressed in human T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia, is an Akt kinase co-activator. Tightly restricted TCL1 gene
