2-Bromoethylamine hydrobromide, also known as 2-Aminoethyl bromide hydrobromide, is a simple, common, and harmless substance that can provide –NH2 for titanate nanotubes through intramolecular elimination of NaBr. Furthermore, it dissolves in water and can replace harmful organic solvents as excellent modification reagents.

- Thiazolines and thiazines via tandem S-alkylation-cyclodeamination of thioamides/haloamines.
- Optically active tertiary phosphines via cesium hydroxide-catalyzed P-alkylation of secondary phosphines.
- Secondary amines via CsOH-promoted chemoselective mono-N-alkylation of primary amines, diamines, and polyamines.
