General description

CompoZr Knockout ZFNs create targeted double strand breaks at a gene specific target locus. Through the cellular process of Non-Homologous End Joining, this double strand break can result in modification of the DNA sequence and therefor create a functional knockout of the targeted gene. To provide the best chance of creating a functional gene knockout, CompoZr Knockout ZFNs are targeted to the first 2/3 of the coding region for the gene of interest.

Physical form

CompoZr Knockout ZFNs are provided as two plasmids encoding for the gene specific zinc finger nuclease.
