Professor Scott Grayson
The Grayson research labs have focused on the synthesis and characterization of well-defined polymers. One particular theme of research has involved the optimization of the mass spectral analysis of polymers using MALDI-TOF MS and associated calibration methodologies. These techniques can enable the elucidation of polymer end groups, the structural determination of byproducts, and the confirmation of polymerization mechanisms. This effort has included the development of robust, monodisperse dendrimers for use as a high molecular weight MS calibration standards.
