Application

Fluoroshield with PPD (p-phenylenediamine; 1,4-phenylenediamine) is an aqueous mounting medium for preserving fluorescence of tissue and cell smears. Fluoroshield prevents rapid photobleaching of FITC, Texas Red®, AMCA, Alexa Fluor 488, Alexa Fluor 594, and tetramethylrhodamine. This mounting medium is fortified with PPD, an anti-fade reagent used to retard photobleaching of fluorescein and other fluorescent dyes. NOTE: Fluoroshield with PPD is NOT SUITABLE for immunofluorescence techniques involving Cy® dyes, R-phycoerythrin (R-PE), phycocyanin (PC),or allophycocyanin (APC).
